What Is a Cut Liner Glove, Exactly?
A liner glove is a seamless knitted glove — usually HPPE (high-performance polyethylene) yarn — with no palm coating. That's really the whole definition. It can be worn on its own for dry, light-duty handling, or slipped on underneath a coated glove when a job also needs grip on oily or wet parts.
Because there's no coating, two things end up doing all the work: the yarn itself, and how tightly it's knitted. Together these decide the glove's cut level — a rating system that runs roughly from A/B/C at the lower end (fine for general handling) up through D/E/F for sharper or heavier-risk work. A denser knit at a higher cut level protects better but costs a bit of stretch and feel; that trade-off is really the whole story of choosing between liner gloves.

Neither one is the "upgraded" version of the other — they solve different problems. If your team is handling dry parts and needs to feel what they're doing, a liner on its own usually beats a coated glove. If the parts are oily, wet, or need a firmer grip, a coated glove — or a liner worn under one — makes more sense.

This is the entry point into the range: a 13-gauge HPPE knit built to Cut Level C, with nothing added to bulk it up. It's the one to reach for when you want cut protection but don't want the glove to get in the way — general assembly, inspection, moving parts around. A lot of customers also use it as a base layer under a coated glove rather than wearing it on its own.
Where it falls short: if the job involves consistently sharp stock, this one's a bit light. That's what the D-level option below is for.
2. Flex Cut Level C Liner Gloves — MCGL-13C137

Same cut level as the C84, but built on a heavier knit with more give in it. The difference shows up over a full shift rather than in the first five minutes — the flex construction moves with the hand instead of fighting repetitive gripping, so it holds up better on packing lines, sorting stations, or anywhere the same hand motion happens hundreds of times a day. If a customer's told us a lighter liner felt "too thin" after a few hours, this is usually the fix.
3. Cut Level D Liner Gloves — MCGL-13D137

Step up to Cut Level D here, on roughly the same weight class as the Flex C137. This is the one for freshly stamped or cut metal, glass-adjacent work, or anywhere the edges involved are sharper than "occasional." It gives up a little of the C-level gloves' flexibility, but that's the trade you're making on purpose — more knit density means a wider safety margin.
Worth layering under a coated glove too, if the task combines sharp edges with an oily or wet surface.

Where These Get Used
We manufacture the whole liner range in-house at our Bhiwadi, Rajasthan facility, and the split we see in the field is pretty predictable: Cut Level C covers most of the day-to-day handling — general assembly, sorting, moving stock — while Cut Level D gets reserved for the tasks people already know are riskier.
Metal fabrication and stamping. Fresh-cut or stamped sheet metal has burrs along every edge, and it's not the occasional dramatic cut that causes problems — it's the routine handling, shift after shift, that eventually catches someone. Cut Level D earns its place here.
Glass handling. Cut glass edges don't announce themselves the way a knife does. Dexterity matters as much as protection when you're positioning panels, so a liner glove — rather than a bulkier coated one — tends to be the more practical choice.
Automotive assembly. Mostly small components, occasionally a sharp-edged bracket or panel. A liner glove's balance of feel and protection fits this kind of mixed workload better than a heavier glove worn all day out of habit.
General industrial handling. Even outside a dedicated metal shop or glass line, any facility moving stock with unpredictable edges is better off keeping cut liner gloves on hand as standard issue, not something pulled out only after an incident.
Picking the Right One
How sharp is the actual risk? Occasional edges, general handling → Cut Level C. Consistently sharp stock, like freshly cut metal → Cut Level D.
How repetitive is the task? Same motion for hours → the Flex C137 for the added comfort. Varied, occasional handling → the lighter C84 does the job.
Do you need bare fingertips? Fine work or touchscreen use → the fingerless liner, knowing you're trading away fingertip coverage to get it.
Is there oil or moisture involved? If grip matters as much as cut resistance, wear the liner underneath a coated glove instead of relying on it alone.
Care & Maintenance
Hand wash with mild soap and let them air dry — harsh chemicals or a washing machine will wear down the HPPE fibers faster than normal use will. Store them somewhere dry, away from sunlight and anything sharp enough to snag the knit. And check them regularly: a liner glove can lose real cut protection well before it looks worn out, so don't wait for visible holes before swapping a pair.
